1976 Missouri State Tournament

Dave Baker with a 76.0% ringer average regained the Missouri State Title losing only one game to Ray Plute. This makes number ten for Baker. Charles Killgore, the defending champion was runner-up.

At the annual meeting, Jim Acock was re-elected Secretary/Treasurer and Charles Killgore was re-elected Vice-President. The Missouri Association is forming a State Hall Of Fame committee.

In the Junior's Division there were three newcomers from St. Joseph all tied for the title with a 6-1 record. In a 30 shoe play-off the finish was very exciting: Britt Brant, 13-years old scored a 45. Stacy Griggs, 13-years old scored a 44 and younger brother Stan Griggs, 12-years old scored a 34. Stacy and Stan live across the street from Britt Brant on Valley Lane, the St. Joseph local paper is refering to the street as Horseshoe Hollow. Stacy Griggs set a new state record for high single game by pitching a 78.6% game against the defending State Champion Jerry Barb.
