1969 Missouri State Tournament

The Missouri State Horseshoe Pitching Tournament was held at the Fairgrounds in Sedalia, MO., on August 22nd, 23rd and 24th. At the annual meeting held on August 23rd, the election of officers were held. Jim Acock of Independence was elected Secretary/Treasurer.

Missouri Queen of Fairs, Miss Janet Seals of Triplett, MO., visited the tournament and helped with the presentation of trophies. Dave Baker was once again crowned for the fourth straight year and Lillard Pinion of Stewartsville was runner-up for the second year in a row. Baker's only loss was to Charles Killgore of Plattsburg, Baker had the high single game of 86.6%

The twelve junior's were asked by the judge, Charles Killgore to qualify with a 20 shoe pitch to determine classes. Three trophies were presented to each class. Games went to 21 points. The best game was 8 ringers out of 20 shoes for a 40.0% by Danny Plute of Warrensburg.
